The selling desk
Sell gold without being taken

The buyback market has a dirty open secret: for identical gold, payouts differ by tens of percent depending on which door you walk through. Cash-for-gold kiosks pay a fraction of melt to people in a hurry; disciplined buyers pay most of melt to people who ask the right question, which is simply: what percentage of the fine-gold value, in writing?
This desk exists so you never sell without that number.
What your gold is actually worth
Everything starts from fine-gold content times live spot ($4,298/oz reference, 25 Sept 2026, moves daily). Then the honest conversation is a percentage:
| What you hold | How it is valued | Honest range |
|---|---|---|
| Sealed refiner bars | melt plus or minus a small spread; serials verified | very close to spot |
| Recognized coins (Krugerrand, Maple, Eagle) | spot-linked, condition-aware | near spot, premium sometimes recoverable |
| 22k and 18k jewellery | fine content after XRF, net of stones and solder | reputable buyers: 80-92% of melt |
| Mixed scrap and broken pieces | same fine-content math | the 40% offers exist: walk away from them |
| Old coins and sovereigns | numismatic check BEFORE any melt quote | melt is the floor, sometimes far below true value |
The assay happens in front of you
No disappearing into a back room. Weighing on a verified scale, XRF analysis you watch on the screen, stones and findings deducted transparently, and the offer written as a percentage of the live melt value. Take it, take it elsewhere for comparison, or sleep on it: the method stands either way.
City specifics, including the documents that smooth inherited-gold sales, live on the city pages: Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and in the inherited-gold guide.

Family gold from these three cities keeps producing the same quiet tragedy: sovereigns, old trade coins and colonial-era pieces sold as scrap at melt weight, when dates and mintmarks made some of them worth multiples. Our process routes anything old past a numismatic eye first: population reports, realized auction comparisons, honest advice on grading. Five extra minutes has paid for more than one funeral's costs.
Compliance is your protection too
Legitimate buyers in all three hubs run ID checks and report large transactions: AED 55,000 territory in Dubai, SGD 20,000 cash rules in Singapore, HKD 120,000 in Hong Kong. A buyer who wants no paperwork is planning to be unfindable later, which is precisely when sellers discover problems. We do this properly: discreetly in manner, documented in substance.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need receipts for inherited gold?
Receipts help but are rarely decisive. What matters: your ID, reasonable evidence of inheritance where amounts are large (estate documents help), and metal that passes assay. We walk each case honestly before you travel anywhere.
How fast is settlement?
Same day once assay and paperwork are done: transfer as standard, other compliant methods by arrangement within the city's rules.
Will you quote from photos?
A preliminary view, yes: send clear photos and any stamps or certificates on WhatsApp. The binding number always follows the physical assay: anyone quoting firm prices from photos is planning to renegotiate at the counter.
What if my items are not worth selling?
Then that is the advice, in plain words. Some pieces are worth more repaired, kept or graded than melted, and saying so is why sellers come back with the pieces that are.
