How to verify before you buy

This is the size counterfeiters bother with most, common enough to move quietly and valuable enough to be worth the effort. Check every bar properly before you pay, not after.

Tungsten-filled fakes exist because tungsten's density is nearly identical to gold's. A magnet will not tell you anything useful, an ultrasound or XRF scan will. • Ask for the CertiPAMP card and run the Veriscan check on any PAMP bar.
• Confirm the refiner is on the current LBMA Good Delivery List.
• Match the serial number against the certificate.
• Check the weight and dimensions against the refiner's published spec.
• Buy only through the refiner's own authorized distributor list.
• Compare the cast-versus-minted premium before you buy, not after.

Price and premium in 2026

Melt value at $4,298 an ounce spot on 25 Sept 2026 works out to roughly $13,818 for 100g. Our market range is $14,000 to $14,700, a premium of about 1.5 to 5 percent, wider than the 500g bar because this size carries a genuine brand premium on top of the usual minting cost. Spot moves daily, so treat this as a range: we quote the live number on WhatsApp, checked against that morning's spot before you commit to anything. Ask the dealer to state their premium as a clear percentage rather than folding it into one round total, the same rule applies whether you are buying a single bar or several.

This suits a first-time buyer or a family building a gifting stock, someone who wants recognizable, easily verified gold rather than the lowest possible premium. If minimizing premium matters more than divisibility, the 1kg or 500g bars get you there instead.
